With over 20 years of experience in the field, Brooke Keenan, as a registered dietitian, has dedicated the last four years to counseling outpatients and bringing a holistic and practical approach to nutritional counseling. She has been specializing in gastrointestinal nutrition for the past three years. Her focus lies in empowering patients to make informed dietary choices that support their GI health, alleviate symptoms, and enhance their overall quality of life.
She works with individuals facing various GI issues, including IBS, constipation, diarrhea, Celiac disease, IBD, GERD, EOE, NAFLD and weight gain. Additionally, She possesses expertise in weight loss, diabetes, and high cholesterol, allowing her to assist with a broad spectrum of nutritional needs.
During the initial appointments, she devotes a full hour to assessing patients’ medical and diet history, aiming to identify contributing diet and lifestyle factors to their GI and overall health concerns. She prioritizes ensuring a balanced diet and nutritional adequacy, even with dietary restrictions. If needed, she will recommend alternative food choices and formulate personalized plans to meet individual nutritional requirements. Hydration is also a crucial aspect of digestive health, and She emphasizes its significance while guiding patients to maintain an optimal balance.
She is certified by Monash University in the FODMAP elimination diet and possesses the skills to implement and reintroduce foods effectively, minimizing the duration of the diet for patients. She specialized in diets for bloating, gas, constipation, diarrhea, IBS, GERD, SIBO, and Intestinal microbial dysbiosis. As a science-based Dietitian, she remains passionate about educating patients on distinguishing reliable sources of nutrition information.
